VR Visualization of Leeuwarden in year 800
The Historical Centrum Leeuwarden (HCL) wanted to create a city tour where they could tell elementry schools about Leeuwarden around the year 800. Within this they needed a something that somehow showcased Leeuwarden from the year 800. Where the goal was inform children in a fun way. The problem was that they didn't know how. By diving into the archives, me and my project group created a Virtual Reality (VR) experience. By scanning a QR code at various locations around town, they could step into a 3D world that mimics Leeuwarden around the year 800. To make it fun for the target audience and to keep their attention, we added a game element where they could collect different objects from that time. If the list was full in the end of the city tour, they got a small reward as a memory for the experience.
